In the beginning…

In Fall of 1977, a group of fourteen music teachers from the Tacoma Chapter of Washington State Music Teachers decided that it was time for Puyallup to have its own chapter under the WSMTA umbrella.

After planning for a year, the Mount Rainier Chapter held its first meeting on September 27, 1978 at Charlie’s Restaurant in downtown Puyallup.

The Mount Rainier Music Teachers celebrated its fortieth anniversary in Fall 2018.
